GET BLESSINGS OF LORD SHIVA IN THE FORM OF DIVINE NARMADESHWAR SHIVLINGA ON THIS MAHASHIVRATRI

Date of Mahashivratri – March 07, 2016

Introduction – about the festival

Maha Shivratri, the night of the worship of Lord Shiva, occurs on the 14th night of the new moon during the dark half of the month of Phalguna (Feb / March) when Hindus offer special prayer to the lord of destruction. This is an important day for the devotees of Shiva, who stay awake throughout the night, praying to him.
Devotees bathe the Shivalinga with milk especially auspicious for women. According to one legend, Parvati performed tapas, and meditated on this day to ward off any evil that may befall on her husband on the moonless night. Since then, Mahashivaratri is also believed to be an auspicious occasion for women to pray for the well-being of their husbands and sons. An unmarried woman prays for a husband like Shiva, who is considered to be the ideal husband. Devotees bathe at sunrise, preferably in the Ganga, or any otherholy water source (like the Shiva Sagartank at Khajurao). They offer prayers to the sun, Vishnu and Shiva. Some folklore also consider this to be Shiva’s day as this was believed to be the answer given by Lord Shiva when asked about his favorite day by Goddess Parvati. Lord Shiva married Maa Parvati on this day. This is the reason this day is considered very auspicious for good relations between husband and wife.

Magha Purnima 2016 – an opportunity to get blessings of Har and Hari for success, health, wealth and prosperity

Date - 22nd February 2016
Magha Purnima is an important day in Hindu calendar. Religious texts describe the glory of holy bath and austerity observed during Magha month. It is believed that every single day in month of Magha is special for doing charity work. Magha Purnima, which is popularly known as Maghi Purnima, is the last and most important day of Magha Mahina. People perform certain rituals like holy bath, offering alms, donating cow, serving cows and Homa at Prayag, the confluence point of the river Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati, on Maghi Purnima.
If we look at classical texts of Astrology, they show that if Purnima is on a Monday it is considered as auspicious showing “Vijay Yoga” as both Monday and Purnima have an impact of moon on it. Moon rules the mind and if on this day Lord Shiva is worshipped by offering ganges water, it helps in removing stress and mind related problems. According to Brahma Vaivarta Purana, Lord Vishnu resides in the water on Ganges on this day. Hence, it is believed that even touching the holy water of Ganges on this day provides salvation. It is also believed that Lord Vishnu is most impressed when a person takes a bath in the holy rivers on this day.
Donations, charities and yagyas organized on this day are considered to be very important. Lord Vishnu is worshipped and food, clothes, jaggery, ghee, laddoo, fruits, cereals etc. are donated. On the day of Magh Purnima, a person should wake up early and take bath in a nearby river or at your home before sunrise. After this, a person should worship Lord Vishnu. Black sesame seeds are used in the Magh month to make offerings to dead ancestors. Donating sesame seeds is considered to be very important during this month.
There is a special significance of this day in Buddhism as well. It is believed that Gautam Buddha announced his impending death on this day. There are religious ceremonies held at Viharas, prayers are dedicated to the Buddha. Religious flags are hoisted on all the monasteries at dawn and sacred verses are chanted from the Tripitaka.
For this day, I am sharing some of the vedic astrological remedies you can undertake to please Lord Har and Hari:
1. You should chant "Om Namah Bhagvate Vasudevaya Namah" mantra while taking bath.
2. Offer abhishek to Abhimantrit Divine Narmadeshwar Shivlinga by pouring milk on it in a silver vessel. Before pouring milk, you should first of all see your face and it will help you in freeing you from stress, anxiety, tensions and double mindedness. It will improve your mental ability to ward off obstructions in your path to success. To know about energized Narmadeshwar Shivlinga and to get it you can visit our website at following link http://lalkitabastro.com/yantra.php

HAPPY VASANT PANCHAMI 2016 - How to do Saraswati Puja

Date - 12th February 2016
Vasant Panchami Puja Muhurta = 09:16 a.m. to 12:35 p.m.
Duration = 3 Hours 18 Mins
About the festival
Vasant means spring, whereas Panchami means the fifth day. And Vasant Panchami falls on the fifth day of spring. This day is celebrated as birthday of Maa Saraswati. This festival highlights the coming of spring. This festival is usually celebrated in Magh, which is between the months of January and February in Gregorian calendar. As per another mythological story, on this day Lord Rama ate half tasted grapes of Shabari and to commemorate this day, the festival of Vasant Panchami is celebrated.
Since ancient times, there is a tradition of worshipping Goddess Saraswati on the day of Basant Panchami. There is a belief that Goddess Saraswati appeared on this day and to celebrate her birthday, her devotees perform her pooja. On this day Goddess Saraswati is worshipped in various names and fames - the Goddess of Learning, the deity of Gayatri, the fountain of fine arts and science, and the symbol of supreme vedantic knowledge. This day is of special significance for Students and Teachers. Goddess Saraswati is also considered the Devi of art and is also worshipped by peoples related to this field. On this day the students also worship the books, copies and pens along with the Goddess Saraswati. Musicians worship their instruments and the Painters worship their paint-brushes and colors.
Many astrologers consider Vasant Panchami as Abujha day which is auspicious to start all good work. According to this belief whole Vasant Panchami day is auspicious to perform Saraswati Puja but still I have given Puja Muhurat from 09:16 a.m. to 12.35 p.m.

Legend associated with birth of Goddess Saraswati

After building the universe, Lord Brahma saw that his creation is quiet like a dead body. It has neither a sound nor any music. Lord Brahma was not happy with the sadistic view of his universe. Then Lord Brahma went to Vishnu and told him about his creation. Lord Vishnu told Brahma that Goddess Saraswati can help him solve his problem. He advised him to evoke Goddess Saraswati and the sound of her Veena will give voice to his creation.
On suggestion of Lord Vishnu, Brahma ji evoked Goddess Saraswati. When she appeared, Brahma requested her to give sound to his creation from her Veena. The moment Saraswati touched the wires of Veena, 'sa' alphabet came out from it. This alphabet is the first sound of the seven sounds of music.
The flow of this music gave voice to the voice less universe. Winds, rivers, sea, birds, animals and all other things got voice. This made Brahma ji happy and He gave the name Vageshwari to Goddess Saraswati. Godddess Saraswati holds a Veena in her hand and thus she is also called Veenapaani.

Method of worshipping Maa Saraswati

While performing Saraswati Pooja, the idol or photo of Goddess Saraswati is kept in front. After this, pinnacle or kalash is enshrined and Lord Ganesha and the nine planets are worshipped. After this Mata Saraswati is worshipped. While worshipping Mother Saraswati, Aachman is performed and she is bathed. After this, flowers, garlands, Vermilions and other make up things are offered. On this day, Gulaal is also offered on the feets of Mother Saraswati. Devi Saraswati wears white clothes so she should be coated with that. On occassion of Saraswati Poojan, yellow flowers are offered and seasonal fruits and boondiyas are offered as Prasad. On this occasion, Malpua and Kheer are also offered to the Goddess.

Mantra for worshipping Maa Saraswati

The following mantra should be recited or alternatively it can be listened.
