HOW TO GET GOOD SLEEP and SOME SUTRAS FOR GOOD SLEEP

Many of us experience trouble sleeping at one time or another. Usually it’s due to stress, travel, illness, or other temporary interruptions to your normal routine. But if sleep problems are a regular occurrence and interfere with your daily life, you may be suffering from a sleep disorder. Sleep disorders cause more than just daytime sleepiness. They can take a serious toll on your mental and physical health, leading to memory problems, high blood pressure, weight gain, and impacting your immune system, heart health, energy levels, and mood. But you don’t have to live with this problem.

Today in this post I am sharing three very important sutras for good sleep:
1. Firstly for having good sleep, you need to ensure that you finish your dinner atleast two to three hours before going to sleep. There are many people who finish their dinner and within five to ten minutes go for sleeping. This is very dangerous for your health. It will definitely give you problems some of which may be a heart attack, diabetes or joint pains/arthritis. To avoid these problems, you must ensure to have your dinner two to three hours before sleeping. If you analyze the sutras of Ayurveda, you would find that all the ayurvedic thinkers have advised to have dinner by sunset so that you have sufficient time to digest the food.
2. Secondly you must sleep in the right direction. I am not going to discuss various Vaastu principles in this post as it would complicate the matters for you. I would discuss the solution for you in simple language. As per Vaastu you should ensure that you sleep keeping your head in east and legs in west. It is also necessary that your sleeping posture is right. The right posture for night sleep is when you are lying down facing roof with your hands wide open. If in any case you are not able to sleep keeping your head in east side, then you can keep your head in South side with legs in North Side. Never sleep keeping your head in North side.
3. Thirdly if you feel that you are not able to sleep for long time after going to your bed, I am sharing a simple remedy for solving this problem also. You can close your right nostril with the help of your thumb and breathe using your left nostril. Breathe in and Breathe out using your left nostril for five to six minutes. It will help you in getting to sleep.

REVEALING SECRETS OF HAPPINESS, HEALTH AND WEALTH THROUGH SERVING COWS IN LAL KITAB ASTROLOGY – PART 1

Before discussing immense benefits cows bestow on our society and environment, I would like to briefly describe the significance of cow service in Lal Kitab Astrology. The unique aspect of Lal Kitab Astrology is that it provides solutions to all our problems by taking care of plants, animals, people and things around us.
Lal Kitab associates Cow with Planet Venus. Lal Kitab says that in whatever form you serve cows, you will be able to improve the results of planet Venus in your horoscope. Venus is considered as the most beautiful and sparkling planet. It shines in both evening and morning. It is considered as the god of love, marriage, passion, luxury, singing and dancing. By serving cows directly or indirectly through using various cow products or through your contribution in a goshala, you will be able to improve the results of planet Venus in your horoscope.
In this post and coming posts in future, I would discuss in detail religious, astrological, scientific and spiritual significance of serving cows and will discuss tried and tested remedies in Lal Kitab for improving your planet Venus. This post would be very useful for all of you in getting happiness, health and wealth through serving cows and consuming various dairy products.
To keep the post short, I have decided to discuss this topic in small parts. This is the first part which I am discussing today. The later parts would be shared in upcoming posts. I would urge you if you like the post please hit the like button and please share it for the benefit of others also.
Difference between Indian breed (Desi Gir) cows and foreign breed cows (Jersey and Holstein)
A few decades ago, farmers used cows for agriculture, transportation, milk and other products. At that time, bulls were used for farming and breeding purposes. That is why a balance was maintained and farmers used to take care of cows and bulls from the income they got from them. With the use of mechanized farming, the use of bulls for gainful employment has reduced. In addition, to gain maximum from cows, people keeping them are making use of injections and steroids leading to deterioration in cow’s health, deterioration of quality of milk and other by products also. Apart from it most of the dairies across India produce milk processed from Jersey and Holstein cows. But these animals cannot be considered as cows, as these are originally a breed of a wild animal named URUS. In Germany it was called AUROCHS. People of Europe hunted this wild animal for good quality and quantity of meat. But hunting of this animal was difficult, so this wild animal was cross bred with various animals along with Indigenous cows of India. Thus were born modern day Jersey, Holstein cows. The main aim behind the development of these foreign breeds of cows by western countries is for Meat production. You would be shocked to know that the milk of these animals is not used directly for consumption in Europe because the milk of these animals contains a poisonous chemical called CASOMORPHINE.
The nutritional value of milk of Desi Indian cows if they are not fed with grass; polluted with chemical fertilizer and plastic is the highest along with many curative properties against many diseases. Finding of life sciences has proved that milk of Indian cows (Indian Gir breed cow) contain an amino acid PROLINE which is strongly bonded to another amino acid INSOLEUCINE. Such milk, called as A2 milk has the capability to fight against diseases and disorders of human body like obesity, joint pain, asthma, mental problems etc. A2 milk contains high levels of Omega 3 that cleans the cholesterol deposits of blood vessels. Cerebrosides present in A2 milk increases brain power. Strontium of A2 milk enhances the body Immunity and protects it from harmful radiation. On the other hand, milk of foreign breeds of cows is A1 milk which does not have required antibodies as well as other essential proteins, fats & nutrients. A study in New Zealand reveals that A1 type milk may be the cause of high blood pressure, metabolic degenerative disease, Autism, Diabetes Type -1 in children and mental disorder in old age. In India, it is also found that many harmful chemicals like urea, starch, glucose and formalin are used to prepare synthetic milk which further results in damage to your health. The solution to these problems lies in using the milk of Desi cow which at present is available in many cities across India.
In this post, I have given a very brief introduction of the topic along with highlighting the differences between Desi Indian breed cows (Gir) and foreign breed cows. In the future posts, I would discuss religious, astrological, scientific and spiritual significance of serving cows and how you can make your efforts in protecting cows. Remember one thing. If cows would be saved, then only we would be able to conserve our environment. Milk is used extensively in India for various purposes and availability of healthy milk would be crucial in building and maintaining each one’s health.

HAPPY BUDDHA PURNIMA – OPPORTUNITY TO AWAKE THE BUDDHA WITHIN

Date: May 10, 2017
Importance of Buddha Purnima Festival
Buddha Purnima is a special day celebrated every year in the Vedic month of Baisakhi or Vishaka. On a full moon night in 563 BC the great spiritual leader Gautam Buddha, ‘the Enlightened one’ was born.
Essence of the day
This is the day on which Gautam Buddha was born. On this very day he attained enlightenment and later at the age of eighty, he passed away. He was one of the great human beings whose kindness and compassion for living beings became a spectacle on earth and his acts were equivalent to acts of God. His love for life, and desire to end suffering from human life drove him away from all worldly pleasures of a princely life and he became a wandering monk for many years.
Knowing Gautam Buddha and learning about his life and teachings is enlightening for others too. It brings awareness about true nature of human life. Those who are confused about their life or those who wishes to understand the spiritual aspect of life, Buddha stands as monumental figure. His struggles to search for a meaning in life bring about a realization of the true nature of a human soul.

How Buddha Purnima is observed

For Buddhists, it is a day to realize the teachings of Buddha by engaging in discussions and observing calmness in life through practices of meditation. In India, the Maha Bodhi temple in Bodh Gaya, several monasteries in Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh, the Buddhist stupas of Orissa see devotees coming in to pray at the statues of Buddha. Buddha temples all over the world are decorated with flowers and illuminated with colorful lights. In Sri Lanka, colorful candles are hung outside homes. In Japan, small Buddhist idols are placed at the shrine and consecrated whereas in Myanmar Bodhi trees are watered and worshipped. In countries like Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Indonesia people also donate food and clothes to the needy.

The religion of Buddhism

After awakening himself of worldly wisdom, Buddha returned to his people and engaged himself in the service of people. He and his disciples devoted themselves to end the cause of suffering in life. He taught his wisdom to people through various instances of their life to bring awareness about life. His life is an example to mankind and the religion of Buddhism developed based on his teachings and wisdom that he gifted people to transcend unhappy and negative aspect of life.
Buddha’s teachings have been canonized by his disciples and followed as strict religious practice in many countries such as Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Korea, Thailand, Japan, Nepal, Mayanmar, Bhutan, Cambodia and India. His teachings essentially are a call to adopt Middle path in life that means shunning extreme ways of indulgence either in joy or in mortification. His message to the world is the Four Noble Truths and his guidance to live an ideal life is consecrated as The Eight Fold Path.
Buddha’s teachings help in attaining peace of mind and then in developing wisdom and compassion for the world around. He has tried to make his disciples understand life through experience and constant effort to make their mind bloom as beautiful flowers.

May Lord Buddha’s preachings for
right conduct,
right motive,
right speech,
right effort,
right resolve,
right livelihood,
right attention and
right meditation…
help us to eradicate evil and suffering from this world.
Happy Buddha Purnima

Insomnia (Sleeplessness) - Causes, Symptoms and Cure

Insomnia is a very common sleep disorder that affects everybody at one time or another in their life. If you have a chronic problem with getting to sleep, you may want to get evaluated by a sleep disorders specialist.
But, if you are troubled by a short period of sleepless nights, probably undergoing stress, then proper nutrition may help you get that good night’s sleep.

As sleep patterns change, older people may awaken more during their sleep. This is normal and may not necessarily be insomnia. Deep sleep produces growth hormone which lessen as we age.

Symptoms of Insomnia

A lack of proper sleep has been associated with weight gain as it hinders the secretion of growth hormones that are necessary to burn fats and build lean muscle mass of the youth. If you are gaining weight insomnia may be the reason.
Insomnia promotes irritability, fatigue during waking hours, problems with concentration, memory, lacking zest and energy.
Lack of sleep has been known to accelerate health deterioration in more ways than we can imagine. If you are going through prolonged periods of sleepless nights, seek help immediately to stop your body wasting away.

Causes of Insomnia

There are many causes of insomnia and each night that you cannot sleep may be of different reasons.
Common causes are stress, worry, anxiety, menopause, depression, grief, overwork, sleeping at inappropriate times, jet lag, stimulants, drugs, alcohol, nicotine, toxicity of the blood, or simply poor nutrition. Those who are on long-term medications may also suffer from vivid dreams.
Diet/Lifestyle Suggestions
In dealing with insomnia, try to identify the causes of your problem and eliminate it or reduce it where possible.
1. Avoid foods that contain tyramine which stimulates the brain—foods like bacon, cheese, chocolate, eggplant, sugar, potatoes, sausages, tomatoes. Eat these foods earlier in the day, if you must.
2. Eat a larger lunch if you must, rather than stuffing yourself with an eight-course dinner late in the evening, something that people in my country are very fond of doing.
3. Avoid stimulants like caffeine, nicotine or alcohol.
4. Regular exercise can help improve sleep quality if not done too close to bedtime.
5. Improve on your dietary intake by taking more fruits and vegetables, especially those with high contents of the B vitamins.
6. Calcium and magnesium have a tranquilizing effect that may help. These can be found in avocado, seeds, nuts, root and many green leafy vegetables.
7. Increase intake of foods with complex carbohydrates and natural sugars that give you that extra help. Foods like legumes, brown rice and honey all help serotonin production that calms the mind.
8. Don’t work, watch TV, or use your computer in bed or the bedroom. The goal is to associate the bedroom with sleep alone, so that your brain and body get a strong signal that it’s time to nod off when you get in bed.

Remedies/Cure for Insomnia

1. Massage your soles of feet at night before going to bed with Cow ghee. If cow ghee of Desi cow (gir cow) is available, it would be more effective. It will not only relax your body but will rejuvenate your mind also leading to good sleep.
2. Have warm milk in night before sleep. It has sleep-inducing protein known as tryptophan.Tryptophan is an amino acid known to promote sleep and is found in small amounts in protein foods. You can add 8 to 10 drops of almond oil in it also.
3. Chanting of Gayatri Mantra at least 11 times before sleeping is also very effective for a good night sleep
