GANESHA CHATURTHI SIGNIFICANCE, DATE, PUJA TIMINGS, HOW TO CONDUCT PUJA AND TIME TO AVOID MOON SIGHTING

In my previous post, I have given you some ideas as to how to choose Ganesha idol for puja. In this post, I am sharing with you the significance of Ganesha Chaturthi along with time on which you can install the idol of Lord Ganesha and some more important information relating to this festival.

Significance of this festival
Ganesha Chaturthi is also known as Vinayaka Chaturthi and Ganesha Chauth. Ganesha Chaturthi is celebrated as birth anniversary of Lord Ganesha. On Ganesha Chaturthi, Lord Ganesha is worshipped as the God of wisdom, prosperity and good fortune. It is believed that Lord Ganesha was born during Shukla Paksha of Bhadrapada month.
Auspicious time to do puja and installing idol of Bappa
Ganesha Puja is preferred during Madhyahana as it is believed that Lord Ganesh was born during Madhyahana Kaal. Madhyahana Kaal is equivalent to midday according to Hindu division of the day.
Sighting the moon on Ganesh Chaturthi creates Mithya Dosham which means false accusation of stealing something. Depending on start and end time of Chaturthi Tithi, sighting of the moon might be prohibited for two consecutive days. It is important for you to remember that moon should not be seen while Chaturthi Tithi is prevailing. Further, Moon risen during Chaturthi should not be seen even if Chaturthi Tithi gets over before moonset.
Ganesha Chaturthi in year 2017 will be celebrated on 25TH August 2017. The madhyahana puja time for this purpose is of 2 hours 33 mins duration (11.07 a.m. to 1:40 p.m.).
NOTE: As discussed previously above time is the best time for puja but if you have a working day then you can install Ganesha idol and do puja in the morning on 25th August 2017
On 24th, Time to Avoid Moon Sighting = 20:27 to 20:44
Duration = 0 Hours 17 Mins
On 25th, Time to Avoid Moon Sighting = 09:11 to 21:20
Duration = 12 Hours 9 Mins
Please note that if anyone has mistakenly sighted moon on above two times then he should chant following Mantra to get rid of the curse of Mithya Dosham–
सिंहः प्रसेनमवधीत्सिंहो जाम्बवता हतः।
सुकुमारक मारोदीस्तव ह्येष स्यमन्तकः॥
Simhah Prasenamavadhitsimho Jambavata Hatah।
Sukumaraka Marodistava Hyesha Syamantakah॥
The Ganeshotsav, the festivity of Ganesh Chaturthi, ends after 10 days on Anant Chaturdashi which is also known as Ganesh Visarjan day. On Anant Chaturdashi, devotees immerse idol of Lord Ganesh in water body after a gala street procession. Anant Chaturthi (or Anant Chaturdashi) is the last day of the “Ganesha festival” celebrated in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. It is the tenth day after Ganesh Chaturthi which falls on the 14th day of the bright Bhadrapada (the sixth month of Hindu calendar). The day follows the immersion of the idols of the beloved Lord but to be welcomed the next year with equal fervor. Some people observe a vow in honour of Lord Vishnu, which if kept for 14 years is supposed to bring wealth. Taking the rising tithi in account, on this year, Anant Chaturdashi will be celebrated on 05th September 2017.
Puja Vidhi and Lord Ganesha Invocation (वक्रतुण्ड महाकाय)
I have discussed with you the method of worshipping Lord Ganesha in my previous post. You can follow the procedure. I am not repeating the previous post so that this post remains concise and clear. If you do not have all the material which I have written for puja vidhi, there is no problem. You can offer Laddu or Modak to Him along with a mala of flowers or alternatively you can offer Rudraksha Mala to HIM. It should be new and should not be used by you. Before doing Ganesha Aarti, you can recite following invocation mantra which is popularly known as the vakratunda mantra:
vakratunda mahaakaaya suryakoti samaprabhaa.
nirvighnam kurumedeva sarvakaaryeshu sarvadaa..
Salutations to the supreme Lord Ganesha, whose curved trunk (vakra-tunda) and massive body (maha-kaayaa) shines like a million suns (surya-koti) and showers his blessings on everyone (sama-prabhaa). Oh my lord of lords Ganesha (kurume-deva), kindly remove all obstacles (nir-vighnam), always (sarva-) and forever (sarvadaa-) from all my activities and endeavors (sarva-kaaryeshu).
"Aum gam ganapataye namah"
Happy Ganesha Chaturthi 2017

EASY VAASTU TIPS FOR HAPPINESS AND GOOD LUCK

In this post I am sharing some more easy Vaastu tips for happiness and good luck for you and your family. If you feel that you are not able to accomplish your goals or you are facing lot of obstacles at each and every step of your life or your family members or you are continuously facing illness and diseases, it shows that Vaastu of your house is not right. I am sharing some of the very effective tips for removing Vaastu Dosha. If still you are facing problems, then book a specific phone or personal consultation at our website.
1.      The centre of the house should be empty or devoid of any heavy furniture. This is because the centre of the home is the Brahmasthan. It should be kept empty for free flow of energy in house. Furniture obstructs the flow of energy and stagnation of energy can bring bad health to the people living in house. Reiki crystals can be kept in the Brahmasthan as it keeps the house energized with positive energy. Reiki can enhance and strengthen positive energy in house. It is a good idea to keep Reiki crystals in house. Install a Reiki charged crystal grid in the Brahmasthan, to keep the whole house energized. You can contact our centre for getting Reiki charged crystals which are energized to ensure free flow of energy at your home.
2.      Place scenery in the North East direction depicting a long road for good vision and planning.
3.      Place a picture or painting of a rising sun in the east direction for healthy social relations.
4.      Overhead beams are used predominantly in houses during construction. But be careful that overhead beams should not run through the centre of the house. Overhead beams can cause a disturbed mind, because they block the positive communication with your mind.
5.      Light a candle every day in the fire zone that is the southeast direction in the house. Candles are the most beautiful way of illumination. Besides, they also add beauty and brilliance to the surroundings. The color of the candle represents its elements and the effects it may bring in your life. If someone in your house is keeping unwell, keep a burning candle in his or her room, for a couple of weeks. Placing the candle in North is good for career and livelihood, while in the North-east, it is helpful for knowledge and understanding. In the East, a candle signifies matters related to family and health. In case you are placing a candle in the South, it represents fame and success. In the South-west, it stands for love and relationships, whereas if you keep it in the Western part of the house, you would be gifted with creativity. To develop friendship, you should place the candle in the North-west, but for balance and peace, keep it in the centre of the house.
6.      Place the study table of your kids in the east direction for improvement in studies.
7.      Remove all the useless clutter, especially under your bed. It weighs you down and keeps your mind subtly connected to the past, which does not allow forward progress.
8.      The kitchen plays a major role in determining the relationship in a family. Maintain maximum distance between gas burner and sink in the kitchen.
9.      Fix a fish aquarium in north-east direction of your house for better growth and to reduce negative energy.
10.  The recitation of mantra “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” is said to do away with all doshas in a house.
11.  Banish all mirrors from the bedroom. If it is not possible then at least face them away from bed or cover them while sleeping. It is said to cause ill health and discord in family.
12.  Keep a single mattress on the bed for healthy marital relation.
13.  Keeping medicines inside the kitchen is said to attract negative energy.
14.  You must establish “Energized Vaastu Dosha Nivaran Yantra” at your home or business place to remove all Vaastu Doshas. You can contact our centre for getting energized yantra that will help you in reducing the impact of Vaastu dosha in your house.

HAPPY RAKSHABANDHAN 2017 – AUSPICIOUS TIME TO TIE RAKHI AND CLARIFICATION OF MYTHS ASSOCIATED WITH LUNAR ECLIPSE (CHANDRA GRAHAN) ON RAKHI

Rakhi Date: 07th August 2017

This year, Rakshabandhan would be celebrated on 7th August across the country. In this post I would discuss the legend associated with the festival so that you clearly know why rakhi is celebrated and would also give you auspicious time for rakhi ceremony. I would also clarify the myth associated with tying rakhi during sutak for lunar eclipse.

LEGEND ASSOCIATED WITH RAKSHA BANDHAN

Raksha Bandhan is celebrated in the holy month of Shravana during full moon or Purnima day. There are number of legends associated to the holy thread and bond of Rakhi. The most popular legend is that Draupadi tied a rakhi on Lord Krishna's hand when He hurt his finger while setting off His sudarshan chakra against evil king Shishupalal. As Krishna's slashed finger bled, Draupadi tore a piece from her sari and tied it around Krishna's hand. Krishna in return vowed to protect Draupadi against all adversities in future.

AUSPICIOUS TIME TO TIE RAKHI

Now the question arise what is the best time to tie rakhi. The best time to tie Rakhi on Raksha Bandhan is during Aparahna , which usually falls around afternoon. If for some reason, you are not able to tie it in the Aparahna period, the Pradosh time is also deemed suitable to perform the festive rituals. According to the scriptures, Raksha Bandhan rituals should be avoided in the Bhadra phase of the day. During the Bhadra time, certain malicious energies are said to come into force. Bhadra prevails during first half of Purnima day.

Raksha Bandhan Thread Ceremony Time = 11:04 to 21:13 (9.13 pm)
Duration = 10 Hours 8 Mins
BEST TIME - Aparahan Time Raksha Bandhan Muhurat = 13:46 (01.46 p.m.) to 16:25 (4.25 pm)
Duration = 2 Hours 38 Mins

Pradosh Time Raksha Bandhan Muhurat = 19:04 to 21:13 (9.13 pm)
Duration = 2 Hours 9 Mins

RAKSHA BANDHAN DURING LUNAR ECLIPSE (CHANDRA GRAHAN)
There are many astrologers and pundits who are advising to avoid raksha bandhan as on 7th August, lunar eclipse is occurring and due to sutak starting on 01.44 pm.  If we refer to Hindu classical texts, including Dharma Sindhu and Nirnaya Sindhu, they do not consider sutak for Raksha Bandhan ceremony. In other words, Muhurta to tie rakhi would not change due to Lunar eclipse or Chandra Grahan. Dharma Sindhu ask to avoid bhadra time while Nirnay  Sindhu says that Raksha Bandhan ceremony can be performed during Sutak excluding the time when Rahu is visible. In other words, Raksha Bandhan should be avoided only when Chandra Grahan is visible and it can be done any time before Rahu Darshan during Sutak.
In the light of above, it can be said that the best time to tie rakhi is during Aparahan Muhurat, i.e. from 01:46 pm to 04.25 pm. The other muhurat are also given above but you should avoid tying rakhi before 11.04 a.m.

Wish you all a warm and happy Rakhi!
