HAPPY NAVRATRI 2017 – NINE NIGHTS OF SPIRITUAL AWAKENING

In 2017, the Shardiya Navratra poojan is beginning on 21st September 2017, Pratipada of Ashwin Shukla Paksha and will continue till 29th September 2017. There is Hast Nakshatra, Shukla Yoga, on this day. This day holds great importance for the devotees of Mata Sharda. Observing Navratra fast for nine days with all the rituals blesses the person with virtue.
The nine nights of Navratri are divided into 3 sets of 3 nights. The first three nights are dedicated to Maa Durga, the next three nights are dedicated to Maa Lakshmi and the rest three nights are for Maa Saraswati. The following 10th day is celebrated as Vijayadashmi for the victory of good over evil.
Durga is Durgati Harini, which means that she has the tendency to remove all evils. By worshiping Maa Durga, her devotees are also able to remove all the evil qualities from them such as laziness, ignorance, and anger. She helps her devotees in gaining noble virtues.
Maa Lakshmi is the symbol of purity, prosperity, and wealth. Not only material wealth, but also spiritual wealth is equally important. The purification of mind can be obtained by worshiping Maa Lakshmi.
Maa Saraswati symbolises knowledge. She is the Goddess of supreme knowledge i.e. knowledge of the self. This knowledge lightens up the soul and helps in making better individuals.
These nine nights are a process of removing all evils from within, purifying the soul, and then gaining the supreme knowledge of oneself for the betterment of an individual.
Navratri ka tyohar aapke jiwan me khushiya aur samriddhi laye. Shubh Navratri!

2017 Amavasya Shraddha/SarvaPitra Moksha Amavasya

Amavasya Tithi Shraddha is done for those deceased family members who died on Amavasya Tithi, Purnima Tithi and Chaturdashi Tithi. If someone is not able to perform Shraddha on all Tithis then single Shraddha (for all) on this day is enough to appease all deceased souls in the family. If death anniversary of ancestors are not known or forgotten then those Shraddhas can be performed on this Tithi. That's why Amavasya Shraddha is also known as Sarvapitra Moksha Amavasya.

Also Mahalaya Shraddha for those who died on Purnima Tithi is also done on Amavasya Shraddha Tithi and not on Bhadrapada Purnima. Although Bhadrapada Purnima Shraddha falls one day before Pitru Paksha but it is not part of Pitru Paksha. Usually Pitru Paksha starts on the next day of Bhadrapada Purnima Shraddha.
How to do Shraddha ceremony on this day through simple astrology remedies
Nowadays many astrologers and pandits have made it so cumbersome for each and every person to conduct shraddha ceremony. In a way each and every person has become dependent on them for conducting this ceremony.

These astrologers and pandits charge hefty fees for doing these ceremonies. In my opinion, if you are sincere and spend some time in doing some simple remedies which I am listing below, you will be able to do this ceremony yourself and that too with materials that are available nearby your house itself with ease. It will definitely give you peace of mind and will also relieve your house from negative energy.

1. Do a havan at your home remembering your pitras and offer 11 aahuti to yagya kund while chanting gayatri mantra (11 times). Get a havan kund (small size). Use havan samagri and mango tree timber for this purpose. If you can arrange one cow dung it would be good. Use desi ghee preferably cow ghee in havan. Have some camphor also. Its fragrance would destroy negative energy of your house. Offer garland mala to the photo of your pitras or alternatively you can offer mala to all the idols in your house temple. Keep photo of your pitras if you have in front of you.
2. Prepare some food as prasad or alternatively bring any white colour sweets for prasad. You can offer fruits in addition to the sweets. Prepare panchamrita (milk, curd, ghee, gangajal, honey) and offer small drops to yagya kund.
3. Take one dozen banana and two litre milk and offer it in nearby temple with some dakshina as per your will and purchasing power.
4. Prepare eleven balls of rice flour. One ball has to be offered to havan kund and rest you can feed to a cow.
5. Listen Gayatri Mantra and Pitra gayatri mantra on this day.
6. Pray to God for the peace of your pitra soul and request your pitras to bestow their blessings on you.
